If you only have 4 or 5 days you should spend 2 nights in Rome, then travel by train to Florence and spend 2 or 3 nights there exploring the Tuscany region.
Rome is an exciting city with alot to do, 2 nights wont really be enough, but you will really want to spend alot of your time in Tuscany as well...

Sounds like a great time.. I did that the same thing , with a fewmore days mixxed in , back about 2 years ago and loved it.

SUMMER!
Hi! In 5 days it's impossible to visit Italy but as Italian I can tell you that you can't miss Venezia and Firenze (4 hours by train from Venice to Firenze). Also roma is beautiful but not as Venezia and Firenze!

Only 4-5 days for Italy? What to do first? I should go 1 day in Venice, 1 in Milano and, at least 3-4 in Rome. These cities are in the same area and you'll not spoil your time, but I gave you this idea with "broken heart ", because for Italy you must have at least 2-3 weeks.

I would say the Tuscan region. You could go to Florence, Siena, Montepulciano and other areas. I love it. My brother lives there and I looked forward to going year after year with my family.
