I'm going to Rome in the coming June. Are 7 days enough for me to visit all the main tourist sights in Rome ?

In 7 days, you'll have plenty of time to see the main attractions of Rome and take day trips on two or three days. The suggestion to see Ostia Antica is a good one. You can also get to Pompeii, Capri, Florence, Tivoli, Orvieto, Perugia, ... There are lots of options depending on your interests. Personally, I'd highly recommend any of the above, but particularly Pompeii and Florence if you haven't already seen them. There are organized tours from Rome, but you can easily do any of these using the train system. You can use the Italian train website to plan a trip: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

In rome? You can walk to all the landmarks in rome. 7 day will surley be enough but if you are visiting other places like florence (which I highly recommend you do!! it has great shopping!) You might need a few more days if you are going to other places!

Yes 7 days is enough.
I also advise you to go to Bracciano where there's a lake and a castle to see...it's very romantic in the evening!(Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes got married there).
If you get enough time go to Ostia Antica, that's where all the ruins from the roman villas are.
And then you could go clubbing at Fregene.
Have a fantastic time!

we have a way to say in Rome 'il giro delle sette chiese'
the tour of the 7 church.....i mean you can really do that way
a church and a museum everyday ..and also a little more for your pleasure ..drink wine downtown and etc etc.
get ready to walk and enjoy the most beautiful city in Europe!

Seven days is definitely enough time. And you will even have a chance to take a day trip if you'd like. Depending on your interests . . . If you're into History Pompeii is nice. If you're more into relaxation I would HIGHLY recommend Sperlonga (a beach known only to the locals). Capri is nice, but a bit overrated, but Ischia is the new up-and-coming hot spot! Orvietto and Tivoli are beautiful if you're looking for a quiet day away!

I'm italian and I went one week to rome this year for the firs 2008's year.
I thingh that 7 days are enought. you can see the main attraction and "live" the city.
Have a good journey!
Do you know sone hotel Address???

Lilli
Went for the first time a few months ago - we saw all the major stuff and some of the minor sites in about 4.5 days. You should have plenty of time, plus time to linger and not be rushed.
