I'm traveling to Italy soon with my younger brother (age 11)? |
We'll be going to Rome for just a few days. He's excited but i'm kind of worried because he can at times be a pickey eater; so I was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to eat at that are relatively inexpensive. |

there's this place called "il buchetto" that is located in Via Flaminia 119 (near Piazza del Popolo).
From piazzale flaminio u get the street car number 2 for just one stop, exit at "Marina militare" [u could also walk for about 5 minutes to get there], go straight on for 100 metres and u'll see this lil "pizzeria". it's a really famous and good one. Quite small but very appreciated both by us from Rome and the tourists and it's a cheap one. u can't reservate a table, but their service is really fast so u won't have to wait too long. |

Honestly, he will love the food wherever you go. I am an extremely picky eater, and went to Italy in April. I was worried about what I would eat, but found that I loved the food...even in the hotels!
But, there are always McDonald's around ;) |

the italian "fast-foods" are normally family run business.
they sell pizza by the cut, as much as you want, and there's all sorts of topping. normally this shops are called "rosticceria, pizza a taglio" they sell also lasagne, rice balls, roasted chicken, grilled vegs.
your brother will have fun picking which kind of pizza he likes. |

all the food there is amazing, i dont think you will have a problem, the italian ice cream is the best by the way!!
just make sure hes ALWAYS with you, its very easy to get lost, and dont flash around your valuables(purse, money, shopping bags, etc), thats what you should be more concerned with |

Restaurants in the Trastevere area are quite ok; you get tipical "roman" food and the medium average price is 20 euro per person; which is more than reasonable if compared to other areas'. |
