If you're interetsed in art or culture you'll want to go to the Accademia to see Michaelangelo's 'David' and also to the Uffizi. I suggest you book tickets for both of these in advance - you'll still have to queue to get your tickets (arrive 15 mins before your allotted time) but that's better than waiting several hours. Allow at least 3 hours for the Uffizi. I was there last October and it was very very busy.

There are some beautiful churches - the Duomo is a 'must' but I also throught Santa Croce was fantastic.

Can't help with clubs or venues as I was only there for a day ;-( but there are plenty of good restaurants.

The AA Explorer Guide to Florence & Tuscany was very helpful with regards to the sites as it gives detailed info on the main pictures, galleries in the museums etc.

Have a great time.

In Florence - Galleria Delgi Uffizi, Galeria dell'Academia (To see the David, mostly), buy leather

I went to a few gay clubs there, all of them cater to men, no girl bars. The one I remember best was called Crisco, and the one I like best was a little underground non named place with drink cards. I'm sure if you asked in the bars about it theyd know.
