I am staying in Venice for 3 nights, me and my husband plan to take a Gondola? |
I read that that it costs 80 Euros. Is that cost per person or per Gondola?
I mean they tell a Gondola carries 6 people, so if it's per gondola would that cost us 80/6 Euros?

If you're only in Italy for three and a half days, I would recommend that you find a place to stay in Rome throughout your stay. You can easily take a day trip to Florence using the trains, but you really don't want to be using a lot of the time traveling much further than that rather than sightseeing. There's a lot to see in both Rome and Florence, going further afield would cut back on what you could see in those two cities.
You can check train schedules and prices at: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html The high speed trains take about an hour forty minutes between Roma Termini station and Florence. The main station in Florence is walking distance to the historic attractions and Florence is compact enough that you can cover quite a bit of it in a day.
Basically, I would use either the 2nd or 3rd day for travel to Florence using an early morning train to go to Florence and a late evening train to return to Rome. Venice would be another 2 hr 40 minutes from Florence each way. |

With only 3 1/2 days you don't have time to travel anywhere. There is so much to see in Rome itself, I suggest you stay in the city and just see as much as you can. |

Rome. Not enough time for anyplace else. Pisa is not worth the time it would take you to get there. Nothing there but the Cathedral and Tower, takes less than one hour. You would need two days at least in Florence or Venice and waste too much time traveling.
You could spend a month in Rome and not see everything worth seeing |

in so little time, you'll see a little bit of the mentioned cities. they are all wondeful. consider that from Rome there is a good connection to Pisa and Florence, you'll need from 1,5 to 3 hours time by train.. Pisa and Florence are very close, only 1 hour by train from each other. venice is far away actually. i can suggest you anyway, maybe for another time in italy to visit this websote, www.ariannandfriends.com, in case you wish to spend some days in the countryside, tuscan hills and do some cooking classes, wine tasting... |

Rome was wonderful, so I would spend 2 days there, but I would also go to Florence or Pisa. I loved every moment I was in Italy. |
