Darjeeling Snow

I know that 'when in Rome do as the Romans do' .... but, what exactly is that?

It sounds so nice ..... !!!

Do they sit by the fountains and drink espresso?
Or take drawing lessons? and painting?
They go to museums?
Eat a LOT of fetuccini?
Do they study singing?
Take day trips out to the Roman countryside?
What do they wear that is particularly Roman?
Do they really have Vespas, the way they did in the film, "Roman Holiday?"

I can't help it~~~~ I just wear rose-colored glasses.

I've been in Rome twice. My sister now lives there from October, her boyfriend is Roman.I believe what makes Romans special(not all of them!)is their sense of good taste in all levels!Good food ,good taste concerning clothes ,enjoying life till the last drop...ech!Of course a walk, to the eternal city ,along side the Tiber helps them to have this special Roman aura!

If you want to do as the Romans do: drive like an idiot, scream at the top of your lungs, toss your litter in the street, gesticulate wildly, never stop making loud comments directed at attractive women, and generally behave like an obnoxious fool.

sorry, we don't do nothing of above, exept maybe the vespas, but that's an old model and now is full of other type of moto
I think if you want to do the list of above you will seems like a very interesting and romantic tourist, but even a touirst.
but if you like that, than do it! :)
I think if you want to do something roman you can (i am some kinda of alternative girl, don't know if you like the style) go in the evening in the circo massimo to hear trybal music and have some fun or in campo dei fiori square (until 3 o'clock) or in the afternoon in villa ada park.
we spend our time there.
if you like instead somethin more romantic go to visit giannicolo view is very beautifull and you can see all rome by the sundown, walk softly along the colosseum little street, and prefer villa borghese park in the afternoon that is a little more romantic than villa ada one.
then we used to sit nor by the fountains, but by the tevere's bridge, eating a 'granita' (that is some kinda of ice with fruit taste) in the evening and if you want to eat the real roman cuisine try trastevere restaurant (trastevere is a district of rome) but be very aware of the price and controll them everytime on the external menu, because there are a lot of restaurant for turist that are really expansive (this is for all both version alternative romantic way)
then i don't know.. be peacefull, wishfull and joyfull!
and ovviestly enjoy yourself!

Drink lots of Vino Rosso (Red Wine) and eat some good pasta. Buon Cibo, Buon Vino, Buoni Amici = Good Food, Good Wine, and Good Friends.
And yes they really do have Vespas and scooters everywhere, they are annoying! Vespa means Wasp in Italian and that is what they sound like. bzzzzz....
