The Magliana area is quite ok ( not the best area to live in but not even the worst ); you can consider yourself lucky because you will have the subway station close; which in Rome is a great thing; being buses so unpunctual and crowded! |

Hi I' am Roman....you must know that Rome is like the another big cityes in the world, so you can find strange people, good people or criminals...if I say you that Magliana is safe, and than someone kill you, is impossible to envisage....
if I say you, than, that Magliana is very dangerous, maybe you could find only pacific and polite habitants!
in general ,Rome is a safe city, but like NY, LA, washington, London ecc...ecc... you can find anyone, good people or bad people!!
good luck and don't warry...I promise you that Rome will charming you!!!

it's a really ugly part of Rome.... but it is safe like all area Rome (only few area in are not safe) |

It depends what you mean with "safe". Magliana is neither the prettiest, nor the most refined quarter of Rome. It is a popular zone where you won't find villas or elegant palaces. Unfortunately criminal deeds may happen, but no more than in some quarters of London or New York City.
But there are several advantages too: lots of cheap shops and markets, bars, restaurants... a good service with buses and trains (Villa Bonelli is less than 30 minutes to Fiumicino Airport), and two very interesting quarters, Trastevere and Eur, are next too (15 minutes by bus / by car). |
