I wanna go to Italy with my friends during our winter break... in the end of january?

How is Italy during winter? Will we be able to enjoy ourselves?
(Low temperature should not be a problem coz we r studying in Moscow)

Since you asked this question under "Venice" I assume that is where you want to go in Italy. More so than the cold temperatures, what you need to watch out for in the winter in Venice is "Aqua Alta", translated as "high water" and better known as flooding. Venice is prone to this especially in Fall and Winter. They do set up walkways in areas such as Piazza San Marco so you can walk over the flooded areas. Or better yet, get a good pair of waterproof boots. On the positive side you will probably encounter much less tourism at that time of year. When I went in June it was pretty crowded there and prices at the hotels and airfares were at their highest. You will get much better rates in January.

If you decide to go to the southern part of Italy instead, the temperatures will probably be a bit milder. How 'bout going to Rome?? The major attractions should be less crowded and since you don't mind the cold ( I'm sure it is considerably milder than Moscow anyway!) you should have a great time!!

Hi,, well if your in Moscow,, then you will be just fine in Italy then...

Take care of the many pickpockets in Italy, that is about the only bad thing about the country that i can say.
The food is wonderful, the people are very friendly and there is so much to see and do there..

good luck

Ciao !!!

Venice is a bad choice.
Go to Sorrento and the Amafi Coast in Southern Italy.

Italy is great in winter-less tourists, less crowds.

It's great in January, especially if you ski.
