YES! I went to Italy on a study abroad program in college. We stayed in Rome, but traveled the country on weekends. It was a great experience! I highly recommend using your college to study abroad in Italy. For me it cost about $6500 for the program, which included housing for a month, weekend trips, some dinners and tours, and course credit. We had to pay our own food/souvenirs (about $1000 for the month) and transportation (about $800 for flight, $30 for a month on public transportation in Rome). Enjoy! |

Hi,
I think you can spend less than 1000 euros a week to be in Rome. there are many special offers in this period. I work in a small hotel in Trastevere, one of the most beautiful places of Rome.

rome, florence, venice are beautiful..but also the smaller and less famous cities..such as siena (near florence), mantova, the sicily, or the mountains in the north (alto adige - sudtirol).
italy is not much expensive you can find many bed&breakfasts or hostels.in general a single room in a hotel*** costs 80-90€/night |

italy is fabulous. OF COURSE it's a good place to travel to. there is so much history and so much to do here.
i fly from LA to Rome in august, Rome to LA in december [and back again], and then Rome to LA in june because i go to university here. tickets are around $950 if you buy MONTHS in advance. otherwise it will be about $1300.
there are plenty of budget hotels, hostels, and apartments to rent. it just depends on your budget. you can try orbitz, travelocity, priceline, expedia, and student universe for ticket prices. good luck and have fub! |
