I will go to Italy with my interrail ticket this summer. My first stop will be Ancona than I'm planning to go Rome and willing to stay there 2 days. But I still couldn't decide what to do next. Can where should I go?Also please tell me the best places in Rome and other cities in Italy.
i haven't been to italy since 1966 but i doubt much has changed. The most beautiful of places has to be rome itself, then there is florence and all it's art, Pisa and the leaning tower, Venice is a must, though you may be surprised at the smell, st marco square will cover you in pigeons.
The senic ports of milano are a great sight,
when you leave italy, you may want to avoid yugoslavia as it is now so war torn, but do stop in switzerland and the alps, Vienna austrai is a must, and of course what trip to europe would be complete with a stop in Holland.

Go to Venice, then take another train to go to Vienna.

Florence is great. See Venice before it sinks!
