Italy, without doubt. I've visited France and there are far too many Frenchmen who look down their noses at anyone not French. |

why not both? they are bordering countries with many differences but also many affinities. Start with a train from Paris and go down to Rome or Naples... at the end of this trip you would have made up your own mind to wihich is the best, and if you travelled in a month like may or june you would have saved about 50% of the money...

(i live in italy) |

I live in France, so for myself I would choose Italy. If I were to advise someone who has never been to either country, I'd recommend France. |

This is very tough - I have lived in Italy and think it is just about the most beautiful place on Earth. But I am hoping to buy a house in France soon and I love it there as well. It all depends on what you're looking for. Many parts of both countries are very much alike, but the cultures are quite different and some people will do much better in one country or the other. Many people with whom I have spoken have this in common: If they love one country, they tend to not like the other nearly as much (works both ways).
Personally I would choose Italy because I speak the language and am very familiar with it. But as one answer stated prior to mine, they are next to each other and one can easily see both in the same day (not a lot, but a taste). |

As much as I love Paris, it would be Italy. The French aren't the horrible people they're made out to be, but Italians are more fun. |

Italy, much nicer weather and the people are much nicer as well. It dose not cost as much to visit Italy as you will spend in France. |
