If you had four days to visit Naples (Napoli) and Palermo in Italy, where would you spend more time? |
If you had four days to visit Naples (Napoli) and Palermo in Italy, where would you spend more time?
1. Would you spend 2 days in each city (10 hour drive in between)?
2. Would you spend 1 day in Naples and 3 days in Palermo (10 hour drive in between)?
3. Would you spend 3 days in Naples and 1 day in Palermo (10 hour drive in between)?
4. Would you spend 1 day in each, and then stay for a day somewhere in between? If so, where would you stay, what town is most interesting to visit in between. Catanzaro, Crotone, Castrovilari? Additional Details I was thinking about Tropea maybe. |

2 days in Napoli and 2 days in Palermo. I believe that Napoli is much more beautiful (i was born there, but lived in northern Italy growing up), but it's an easy place for people to steal your money and try to hustle you. I'm not a big fan of Sicily, but it's a place you should experience if you're in the area. This is why you should divide your time evenly. Have a good time! |

To quote my Italian professor: "See Naples and die."
I did NOT enjoy Naples. It's a dangerous city and very hard to navigate. However, I've heard WONDERFUL things about Palermo. I wish I would've gotten the chance to go. |

I would go to Palermo for 3 days and take the ferry. There is alot to see and do. If you are going in the warmer months the beaches are beautiful. Do not miss Cefalu and Mondello. Have fun --- I'm jealous that you are going to visit Sicily. It is my favorite place. |

I hate Naples, though a trip to Pompeii is worth it! Tropea is fun to explore for a day, but I love Palermo and the surrounding area! I agree with another poster that you should not miss Cefalu. Check out Trapani, Erice, and San Vito lo Cappo if you can as well. |

You'll lose an entire day traveling... trust me on this. You should therefore spend the entire 4 days in either of the two. Naples by far has more to offer as a city but Palermo has even more to see and do in its outskirts (Erice to Marsala). |
