constant traveler
I would visit Twizi.com, they list places to stay all over for less than 25 dollars and list tours that cost less than 30. Places to go? Venice is the gem of Italy, florence, rome, and porto fino. Below is a link to Twizi's rome page they have are truly a budget travelers dream site and worth a look!.

Worry?

You will need to stay in Hostels to reduce your costs. $2,000 is not a lot of money for 3 weeks. Try to visit Venezia, Firenze, Roma, and San Marino.

planksheer
Venice, Florence, Cinque Terra, Rome, and on into Sicily.
Get a rail pass for the Eurostar. stay at back packer places -
go see Pisa and check out the country side in Tuscany.
