Im going to Milan in September - can anyone reccomend resturants, bars, sights etc. We are spending a day at?

We recently went to Milan and I think one day was more than enough to discover Milan.

I would recommend to visit the cathedral (Il Duomo), climb to the top of it, the castle, Castello Sforzesco, the shopping district, be prepared to see models walking by...go to a couple of museums and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and if you are lucky to get tickets to see the "Last Supper" at Santa Maria delle Grazie, Milan.(get them on line about a month in advance)

you must visit DUOMO and you can eat at the restaurant on the RINASCENTE; it is a commercial centre opposite the DUOMO..............you must visit como with famous LAGO OF COMO where george clooney has very very big house.then you can visit montenapoleone street della spiga street and the SCALA of milan. it is the biggest theatre in italy

I can tell everything u need about it, just because i'm from milan ^_^, i'm better than all internet guides; so try these places: if u go in the centre of the city, you must go to "luini", there you can eat the best "panzerotti" of all the world; then you can go on "naviglio grande" near duomo, look for "ripa di porta ticinese" street, and if you go forward that way, you'll find a lot of bars very nice on the river too; and some very nice stands; if you need a good restaurant u just have to look around you in the centre of city and you'll find a lot of them, trust me: we have the best food of all the world, you'll eat well in about all restaurants...well, i can advise you some places like "gnocco fritto", on "naviglio grande"; "i fratelli la bufala" always on "naviglio grande", and others in that places, you have to visit "sforzesco castle", in "cairoli", cause it's wonderful in the night; and if u have to go shopping, i really advise you to go on "buenosaiers" street, it's the longest shopping street in europe, or maybe in the world, it doesn't matter ^_^...then...ummm, i think that's all...if you need some more infomations u just have to write on your question and i'll give u more specifical informations...hope u'll need what i wrote, bye.

Ideally situated for the Fiera district near Piazza Amendola, Claudio Sadler's excellent food and wine bar offers a tempting array of meats, cheeses and dishes using unusual ingredients from carefully selected producers. To have a budget dinner avoiding international fast foods, Milan young people every evening crowdes pubs and locals for the HAPPY HOUR rite (also called "APERITIVO"). With 5-8 â‚¬ in the majority of bars from usually 18:30 to 21:30 one can have a drink with an open buffet with a large variety of food. Many places offers not only pizzas and snacks, but also pasta, vegetables and sometimes meat.
City areas with higher density of such places are: corso di Porta Ticinese, Corso Como, Brera, Isola, Navigli. Duomo surroundings are poor of night life.

It is perfectly easy and acceptable to pick up a cheap and simple pizza or sandwich for lunch. The huge number of university students in the city has also helped to spawn a large number of cafes, inns and pizzerias offering simple, low-cost food.

There are MCDonald's restaurants throughout the city-- There is one just out side the train station-
Burger King- There is one on the other side of the Duomo.

Food markets - Street-markets are found throughout the city and provide the cheapest meal of all, selling cheese, salami, and fruit. Luini - at Via S. Radegonda 16, it would be plain dorky to miss this place that has been serving panzerotti (deep-fried mini calzone) from the gods for one hundred and fifty years! Oskar - At Via Palazzi 4, is a great place where you can get a mother of a serving of pasta at backpacker prices. Warsa - at Via Melzo 16, thereï¿½ tight in the middle of Milan's shops and bars is Africa. Warsa is an Eritrean restaurant where you can get good, cheap food.
