It depends on what you want to see. Rome is a very nice city if you like to see tourist attractions like the vatican and the colisseum. Venice is also very nice to see. It is very pretty. There are many tourist attractions, but not as many as Rome. |

If you ant to go to the beach, then go to the South (Calabria, Sardinia, Sicily, or Abruzzo, which is a very nice part of Italy and very cheap, also)or, in the North, you can go to Liguria, le cinque terre!
Enjoy yourself and have a good time! |

You can combine Venice and Verona on one trip and also include Lake Garda. Probably also Bologna with these.
Separately, Rome and Florence as they need time on their own. |

Venice doesn't have much in the way of beaches (I've heard the Lido isn't so nice, but I haven't actually been there), but there are some nice ones in that area. Of course, the city itself is amazing! For beaches, southern Italy would be the best.
For shopping, Milan and Florence are the best, hands down. Particularly Milan, but be prepared to spend a lot of money. |

Anywhere in Italy is great. Sorrento and Capri are some of the most gorgeous places in the world. Capri has a lot of small shops and some bigger name shopping. Assici is a good example of a small friendly Italian city. It's worth looking into as well. |

Well seeing as you would like to shop- Rome and Milan are your top choices. Although, please keep in mind that they are quite pricey! Rome is really amazing- great shopping, food, hotels, sight-seeing...everything! Definitely worth checking out!! Other than that, I really recommend Venice! Veryyy beautiful! Oh and from Rome you can also take these tours out to some other places in Italy...It's really quite nice! In Venice, you can go out to the neighboring islands called Murano and Burano, and that's also really cool! Hope you have a great trip! |

Last summer I was in Pisa/Naples/the Adriatic coast/Rome/Venice/Italian Alpine area/Sorrento/Positano/Amalfi. All are amazing and you wouldn't be dissappointed by visiting any of these areas, but beaches and tropical areas, the Amalfi coast is an absolute must. Sorrento/Positano/Amalfi are spectacular, words and pictures do not do it justice, and the beaches are pristine, picturesque and everything you ever dreamed about in an Italian summer holiday. Also, I'm going again this summer, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy it! Chow! |

Definitely Rome. It's one of 3 cities in western Europe that is a MUST see. This is because of the history, sights and the people. You will also feel comfortable and safe if you don't know Italian, because there are lots of visitors here. The whole country is amazing, but if you only have the chance to go to one or a few cities, than Rome it should be. |

Milan has no beaches but it's a cool place to hang out during the day AND at night. Good clubs, shopping, bars, the works. Hot a muggy during the summer and cold and damp in the winter. It's a good base to head to Aosta to ski or go for nature walks during the summer. You can make a blitz to Venice for the day from Milan (6 hours r/t from Milan's Central Station) to see some of the sights. You want beach, sun and fun, night life to the max then Rimini is for you. |
