i went to venice 2years back when i was 16, it was great!
u have to bare in mind that during the summer time it is packed, and full of pigeons , and they also have rather large seagulls.
they have a maccas there too... so italian lol.
we took a ride on a gondola, its something u must experience, its so typically venician!
we also took a ferry out to one of the islands called murano, n there we saw glass being made, and sculptured. it was really good to see how it was done.
visit sant marks basilica.. its roof inside is all made from gold leaf, its really wow. but u cant take fotos, even though i snuck some in.
also there is a tower in the san marco piazza. climb it! i didnt have the opportunity to as they were undergoing maintenence, but i think it will be wonderful to. just wonder through the little lanes, and over the bridges, they r all unique!
have fun!

Lucky you, i was in Venice last June. What an incredible city, which has now become my favourite. Anyway i did a google search on Venice before i went and it was a great help. It is suitable for children 14 and under as long as they like to walk, and walk, the best way to see the city. Have a great time!

The main attraction is the city itself which is unique as it is built on water, and rather then have cars, they use boats. The main Piazza (square) is Piazza San Marco. Do a google search as that will have thousands of results for info on Venice.
It is find for children, just bare in mind the summer time gets very hot and humid there and it will be crowded (but it is always crowded as it is one of the most visited cities in Italy.)

Dear,
it is very suitable for children! as there are no cars whatsoever!! the only suggestion is to keep an eye on them when you have a canal but there are many squares (campo) which have no canals so children can run and do almost whatever they want!!
Main attractions? Venice is one of the most important city of art, architecture, paintings, museums, etc etc. Enjoy your stay !
