No accurately, in Venice there are public boats that people used like the metro or bus, but is public (you must buy a ticket) not private such as a personal car. A little bit of people have a personal little boat. We usually walk to move in shops or other places. |

well, not by all inhabitants as in any other city families have their car. Some people have a boat but it is for working reasons (they need a boat for their job) or for leasure (a boat to go out and rest in the lagoon in the week-ends). Common people just walk or travel by vaporetto (water bus) to go to work, to the supermarket, anywhere. |

Yes that's right, they are. When you visit Venice you can drive to Piazalle Roma and then everywhere you go after that is by boat or by foot.
There are water busses called Vaporetti, water taxis and the the gondola. Food is delivered by boat, some people have there own boats to go to and from work, funerals take place by boat and there are even boy racers on boats!!

When I was there, I saw UPS boats and furniture moving boats. Funny to see a small boat with a sofa on top going down a canal. |

pretty much. there are no cars inside the city, and instead of buses they have small ferries. the taxis are boats too. it's also a very easy city to walk around in (unless you have to go to an island), with a good map, as there are small little streets and canals...
beautiful, though - I happen to think walking around venice is the best way to visit it... |

fire boats, police boats, ambulance boats, water taxis, water buses(public transportation), usually people who live in venice own some sort of boat weither it be a dingy, motor boat, row boat(unlikely) or a gondola(not many for people who live there)
basically except for being able to walk everywhere u take a boat. except on the lido where cars are allowed and right when u get into the city by the train station |

yes, no cars allowed in the pedestrian areas so the canal system is used to get around when not walking....
some people have their own private boats, police & emergency services have their boats. public also takes vaperretos like a ferry taxi, or tourists like the gondolas. there is also a boat to take people from one side of the canal directly to the other side when a crossing bridge is too far down . |

Boats are used instead of cars, delivery vans and small trucks. Boats are fitted with cranes to lift out or into the boat heavy goods (pallets of cement, food stuffs and more).
During the day you see UPS, FedEx and all making deliveries (in boast) up and down the Grand canal.
Ambulances, police boats and even the firefighters move around in boast. |

Yes - the 'garage' is at sea level with gated entrances. then park their boat and go up to their flat. |

Yeah. In the city you can travel only by boats. It's fun isn't it? |
