Italians pay close attention to fashion. Stay away from fleece and sneakers, wear jeans that are dark colored (and designer if possible) or wear khaki pants, bring some comfortable but slightly dressy shoes. Women should stick to dresses and skirts whenever possible and stick to neutral colors so all your items match with each other (eliminating the need to overpack). Bring a pretty scarf or two to dress up clothes.

If you plan to visit any churches make sure you have a shirt that has sleeves and a long skirt or pants.

You wil not be allowed in if you have a tank top and/or shorts.

Italians are definitely dressier than they are in North America you will stand out if you walk down the street in shorts.
