in sorrento there are people of all the world
they came in sorrento at summer time (may - september) because is the best
place whit you can see the beautiful vista of the place |

Sorrento is full of visitors from all the world, expecially in Summer.
It's an amazing place, and the nearby villages are beautiful, too.
Amalfi, Positano, Capri island and Ischia island are really lovely places to see. |

International, and generally slightly weathier. It's not a cheesy holiday resort-type place, even if it is a holiday resort. It's nice, but there are gigolo types going around. |

All sorts of people go to Sorrento. I've been there several times. I suppose that people who are looking for things to see and do on or around the sea woulde be more likely to go there than people who are looking for the more historical or large city activities. However, it's very close to places like Pompeii and Naples. |

I have been to Sorrento but I think you will find it is much more 'package touristy' than other parts of Italy. If you want to do the sort of things that tourists do in Spain (barbecues, mixing with other British people, etc) then you'll find it fine.
As other posters have said, it is surrounded by beautiful countryside. You can get a train to Pompeii or a boat to Capri, or take a trip along the Amalfi coast. However if you want somewhere more authentically Italian then I would recommend somewhere else (just about anywhere else in Italy!). |
