Assisi is closer to Florence and it's beautiful. You really should visit it. |

It's pretty much equidistant between the two.
I do recommend going there, but it would not be my first choice in Umbria. I liked Perugia much better--much more atmospheric. You can stay in Perugia and take a train to Assisi for a day trip. |

dont really sure its kind of in the middle of both.
but its very beautiful and the church of St Frances is very relaxing and calm.

Not sure about the distance, but it is a beautiful town and the church is one of the prettiest I have ever seen in Europe! |

i can see the mountain where assisi lies from my window!!!!!!!.....(but it's almost midnight........)
ps: if you'll go to umbria in spring or summer i think you should visit Valnerina(a valley), too(Norcia, Spoleto, ecc...) |
