Is Marco Polo Airport in Venice confusing? |
I will be heading to Venice in November and was wondering if the Marco Polo Airport is confusing to someone who only speaks English? Is everything in Italian? And if someone is picking you up where would you meet them at? |

OK, here's what you should do. Make certain you follow other Americans off the plane. Since all visitors entering the country through the Marco Polo Airport have to go to the same place, let someone else go first. By watching what they do, you shouldn't have any problems. I know this sounds stupid, but it works. Once you actually get into the airport, I think you'll be surprised at how smooth things will go.
As for meeting someone, chances are they will spot you long before you see them.
The most important thing is that you enjoy your trip. |

Marco Polo airport is quite compact, and the best meeting place is in the Arrivals Hall which is just outside the area with the Baggage Carousel area.
As with most world airports, baggage claim etc is clearly marked with International symbols, there's no need to worry about the language. You can get an idea of how it looks by going to the airport website, selecting 'At the Airport' from the menu, and look at the 'Virtual Tour'.
Enjoy you stay in Venice, it's my favourite European city.

It's not a big airport, so it isn't difficult to understand where to go.
People speak English but even if they didn't on your flight there must be for sure people that speak both Italian and English and they would help you in case you need it.
