Hi; I found this on the phone book site http://www.paginebianche.it/execute.cgi?btt=1&tl=2&tr=101&tc=&cb=&tq=2&qs=minto&qsn=&dv=venezia&ind=&nc=
and here http://www.gens.labo.net/en/cognomi/ digit minto on the top left and then press the red arrow
nearby Venice you'll find a lot of "Minto"

carmy
I live in Veneto and I just look on an Italian web site where we can write and find surnames.
You are all right. Is a surname of Venice province.

this is the link: http://www.gens.labo.net/it/cognomi/genera.html

I must say I've never heard it but actually I didn't check the local phone book

I spend a lot of time in Venezia. I know of one Minto family. They have about a dozen relatives around the Veneto plain.

There may be more but they are not related.
