Is Rome, Pompeii, Naples, Capri doable in 7 days in Italy?

without a doubt you can do that. you only need a day in Capri tops a day and a half if you want beach time..Capri is amazing and make sure to get over to Anacapri. Pompeii for the sights one day. If your a big history person two. You could start in Capri day and 1/2 Pompeii day and 1/2. Do two days in Naples so you can really see it and feel Naples, I don't think there is another city in the world like Naples. And finish in Roma with your last two days...If your flying out of Roma this will work out Great for you..

Yes, you can do this fairly easily. Spend three or four days in Rome and take the train to Naples (1.5 to 2 hour trip - http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html). You'll be able to cover Rome fairly well. Pompeii and Capri are both worth a full day, but they're easily accessible from Naples. There are boats to Capri from either Molo Beverello or Mergellina. Several companies provide service: http://www.caremar.it/pages_it/orariloaded.asp?Porto1=Napoli&Porto2=Capri, http://www.snav.it/, and http://www.alilauro.it/. You won't cover Naples in depth, but you'll be able to get a taste of what it's like.

From Naples, take the Circumvesuviana train toward Sorrento to get to Pompeii; get off at the Pompeii Scavi stop. The entrance is a short walk from the station. There are a couple of trains per hour. It's about a 45 minute trip. http://www.vesuviana.it/Reteeorari/Ferrovia/Orario/LineaNapoliSorrento

I've gone to Pompeii as a day trip from Verona when there have been visitors that really wanted to go and we only had a day (using the night trains and sleeping in both directions). From Rome, this is pretty easy - a lot of people do it as a day trip.

No...Absolutely no...You need to dedicate a whole week for Rome, a city with so many treasures and itineraries to follow..Just for Pompey also you need a whole day...
Bear in mind the distances...
You ll get tired, and at the end you wont see so much
