Is Venice and the water buses easy with pram/buggy or not?

It is doable, but won't be the easiest place. The water buses can be very crowded in the summer. I struggled to find a spot for my large suit case! Also, there are a lot of stairs leading to bridges and narrow walkways in Venice, so navigating those could be tough. I saw plenty of people with babies and my husband helped several people carry their buggies over bridges.

Hello,

I would say it is do-able but it will be very difficult. Venice is made up of canals and to get from side to side you must cross bridges. All the bridges have steps. Some only have 8 or 10 steps but a lot of bridges have more. You will be carrying your stroller around more often than you will be pushing it. Also, on the vaporetti, depending on where you get on and the time of day, there might not be enough room for a large stroller. I have been on them when they are packed tight and you can't move. I can't imagine trying to wedge a stroller onto one. It would be best to take a backpack carrier for the child if it will fit in it. If not, a small, folding stroller that is lightweight will work the best. Unfortunately, Venice is not the most infant friendly city in terms of using strollers and other such conveniences.

I would say that the vaporetti (or water buses) should be pretty accessible with a buggy. You will have to ask about admission prices though, you can find the main ticket office near Venice central station.

Most vaporetti have a deck on the back where you can just stand, the front part is often with seats. Bring your buggy in the back, and I think there will be no problem at all. For more info about Venice, see the link below.

Have fun there, I will go there again this summer too :)

Yes, youi can board with a baby carriage.... as long as it's not built like a ship. The people working on board generally lend a hand if they see a mom (or dad) having a problem getting on board with the pram.... So I would say yes, it is easy.
