Is Venice very Expensive

Yes it is quite expensive if you want to have meals or go to pubs (bacari) in the San Marco area but you can try to find alternative places which are normally visited by local people. Cannaregio has many less expensive places. In the area near San Polo there is a gelateria "Da Tarcisio" and in San Marco there is also a Rosticceria in Calle della Bissa (it is near Mac Donalds) the food is fine and doesn't cost much. If you need info about other places in Venice you can contact me through e-mail. Have a nice stay!

Venice is one of the most expensive cities in Italy, but is well worth the price.

Stay away from gondolas. Avoid the restaurants and bars in Piazza San Marco. Look at menus before entering a restaurant.

I can recommend a good hotel in a town just outside of Venice. It is called the Hotel Raffaello in the town of Spinea. It is rated 3 stars. We stayed there when we arrived in Venice one day before our reservations. That was last year and I believe it cost less than 100 Euros, including breakfast. There is a bus just outside the hotel that will take you to the Venice bus station from where you can get a vaporetto to Venice.

The hotel webside is members.tripod,com/HOTELRAFFAELLO.

Yes, its very expensive, especially if you eat in the tourist areas. Entrance fees tend to be expensive as well, and the vaporatti are expensive. For a gondola ride, expect to pay €100 plus for an hour. Don't eat in Piazza San Marco, and don't have a coffee there either. Check prices in restaurants before sitting down. Hotels in Venice itself are very expensive - staying on the mainland somewhere is much cheaper.

Italy is one of the expensive places in italy, but it is also one of the most beautiful. If you want to save some money on food, do not go in any Bars or Restourants, it is better if u go to the supermarket and buy stuff there!!

it's very expensive in venice. never eat your meals there. the food tastes horrible and its really expensive. either bring your own food or wait till you get out of venice then eat,
