Mysterious Stranger

Is it dangerous for me to travel through Italy alone?

I'm walking parts,as well as taking various forms of transport. But I know that it's dangerous to travel alone, however noone will come with me as they're all doing their projects for Uni. (This is a project investigating architecture and art throughout Italy)

Thanks for your answers :)
Additional Details
Yeah, I know. Everyone is giving me a load of grief about this, but I walk through backalleys in England at night, and have probably been in in more danger in England than anywhere else.

Italy is safest than the most of european countries...
why the hell should be that dangerous? What is all this going on about danger in Italy? I was far far more scared to walk alone in some parts of england instead!!!

soelo
I was in Italy alone for ten days. Men talked to me, but it was never threatening. Use common sense and know how to call for help and you will be fine.

You should not plan such kind of 'random' travelling alone....neither in Italy nor in any other country! If 'walking' means during the day and inside towns it's ok. But forget going around alone at night...anywhere!
Take care of yourself.

Danger lurks in all countries for a lonely woman. Many have managed it and some have found themselves in difficulty.Best to find a companion you trust.

Find a companion, but it depends on how you travel. First class on trains, and taxis instead of public transportation will be safer. also, carry a rape whistle, and a cell phone

Yes, it's dangerous for a girl to travel alone in Italy..expecially if you're a foreigner!...It would be better to come with someone.
