Since you put the question in the Travel section, are you talking about Italians in Italy (then is completely false) or Italian Americans?
Edit: well, I live in Italy and trust me I never heard that :)
More simply, Italian women are not uncritical or submissive.
That doesn't mean Italians (men and women) likes Italians only, though.
Edit 2: Stan, although Italy is far to be a perfect society, the western Countries with the highest rates of domestic violence are the UK, the US, Germany, Switzerland and Spain. Countries in North continental Europe (Sweden, Denmark, ...) are far more advanced about equality. |

I'm Italian and believe me it isn't true!! XD
it's just that we often see people with dark hair an eyes so when we see someone blond with blue eyes we think : "damn he's hot|!!" (well naturally only if he IS hot.. XP)
but personally I like guys with black hair and green eyes.... *dreamy face* but we love Italian men... believe it!!! XD

Somehow i hear that is true. My Italian teacher is Italian and she married an Irish guy. I asked her why she married an Irish guy and she said that Italian men never do anything or help their wives with things. I live in an Italian family and i happen to find that true sometimes.

I don't think that is necessarily true. However, the way Italian men treat women is unacceptable in the context of a British / American tradition. I suspect if there is an undercurrent against Italian men it would be among Italian feminists.
They obviously aren't as bad as the Russians or there would be ads for Italian wives. |
