Just returned from near there! San Remo is a tipical Seaside city of Liguria: cahotic but very charming. Not much to see there at this time of year, except the seaside, which is quite beautiful (mostly stones, not sand). Attractions there are the Casino and the Ariston Theatre, where each year, in February is held the most famous Italian pop song festival. The whole "Riviera dei Fiori", where San Remo is located, is beautiful, if you want a relaxed vacation. Not exactly a hot spot if you like nightlife or clubbing: this area of italy is famous for vacations tailor made for families and elderly people. Liguria offers a lot of beautiful places to visit, at about 1-2 hours drive, as the ones mentioned above.
