It's impossible to campare two different style most of all it they are both beautiful.
It depends about your taste.
Venice is more "oriental"... "arabian". Because Venice had a commerce with Costantinople. So it's full of gold, mosaics...
Instead Florence it's a typical italian Renaissance city. |

I have been to both places in my travels, and I would have to say Venice, but Florence is also a very beautiful city, but in terms of Architecture I would say Venice, for it is very original |

They are both architectural masterpieces. Venice does have the added uniqueness of being on water. Having said that I am a strong believer that a holiday is what you make of it, and what you experience when you arrive. It's usually the weirdest things that make a holiday memorable.
