The train station in Florence, Santa Maria Novella, if I'm not mistaken, has a luggage room on the right side of the station, if you are facing outward toward the tracks. You walk along the side, following signs that are in international pictogram -- I think it is a suitcase.
In Venice, I believe it may be in the lower part of the station, but I have only been to that station once with luggage to leave. The signs will be the same.
They typically do not have lockers in Italy. You have your luggage examined, locked them back up, receive check slips (DO NOT LOSE!), and go on your way. Be certain to check the hours of the luggage office too, if you plan to deposit or retrieve your belongings at an odd time.
I have never had anything missing or damaged, but perhaps keep your passports and so forth with you, just in case. |
