Italian. How often do you play scopa (the Italian card game)? Is briscola the same as briscola?

Q.1) The same as the title question

Q.2) Is scopa popular in Italy among children, adolesants or adults? Or all of them ?

I have some Italian classmates ( They are exchange students ). They say if I am interested in learning how to play scopa. Since I am interested in Italian culture, I say yes. They are going to show me tomorrow. I am excited

Q.3) How can I win in the scopa game ?

Finally, Eros Ramazzotti is going to hold his first-ever Australian concert in Melbourne , Sydney and Perth. I am going to the Mlbourne one. :)

Grazie mille

hello i am italian and i try with my best english teach the scopa game to you and answer all your questions
1) the scopa game is very popular same briscola but are two different games... very different
2) yes everybody play scopa is very easy and the child start to play very young

the scopas game is played with 40 card every turn you have 3 card and usually 4 card are in the middle on the table.
when is your turn you will play one card and you will try to take the card on the table for take them is easy (you will do a sum for example on the taable there are 5 and 3 you have 8 you take them).if you have 9 you cant take.
the points are in the end what says the other guy. plus if you do scopa you get an extra point. you make scopa when finish the card on the table. if we use the previous example if you take 8 and finish the card on the table you make scopa, if remain more card nothing.
with the scopa game you can play by yourself or in couple.
3) usually in scopa game you can arrive at 11, 15 or 21 for win
enjoy the ramazzotti concert, i hope he sing terra promessa his first song is so nice and beatiful mate.
Briscola is very different and little bit more complicate than scopa
an example the higter card is the 3 after 2 and than 1 after you have 10 - 9-8-7-6-5-4-
the card one is one point the cards 3,2,10,9,8 are each one 1/3 point
this means you will have 3 of that card for make a point the rest cards are rubbish
i hope i was clear with my explanation......... and please win
cheers from perth

zizzuzza from Italy
scopa is different from briscola...

Everybody knows play scopa, in italy is the first card game that you learn when you are a child.

Eros Ramazzotti? uhm....i prefer Articolo 31, Zero Assoluto, Fabri Fibra, Zucchero....

Score:

1 point when you do "carte" (cards) (when you have more cards than your opponent).
1 point when you have the "settanta" (seventy) all the Seven of the four suit.
1 point when you have the "sette bello" (nice seven) the seven of diamonds
1 point when you have most of diamonds than your opponent

that was the 4 point (di mazzo) (of pack)

Ciao e divertiti!
Bye and enjoy yourself!

1. I play scopa often. Briscola is not the same as Scopa.

2. Scopa is popular among all ages

3. With scopa...try and match your card with the remaining cards on the table. You get "scopa" when you clear the tables cards. So if you have a 5 and all the cards on the table add up to 5...then you get scopa. That gives you extra points. Try and get more points by getting more cards. Also, look for the gold coin cards. If you have the most that gets you a point as well. In addition, the gold coin card that has seven coins will net you another point just for having it. So be sure to get that one if you can. You also get poitns for having the most cards that represent 7...next try and go for 6 as they can be instrumental for a win as well. As for the rest, it's best to just play it and get into the game and learn it that way. Trust me, you'll be playing like a pro in no time. It's fun!!

p.s. Enjoy the Eros concert. He's a favorite of mine.

p.p.s.: LOL to "gej" for the comment posted

Often very often...we like scòpare a lot

siamo qui a viverci
I'm from Australia too and went on exchange there last month.
When we went to school the boys there all wanted to know if we played scopa. and so we played scopa in their break!
SO yes, I'm guessing scopa is pretty popular! ( well that was among adolescants at least!)
Trick to you winning:
play in teams, and then make sure you have the Italian classmate on your team :P kidding! :D
