Italian Music?

I will be going on a trip to Europe. A lot of our time will be spent in Italy. I'm looking for some good Italian feeling, or European feeling music to get me into it. Haha.

I know it's lame, but an example of what I'm looking for is like stuff in the Lizzie McGuire Movie soundtrack.
An Evening In Roma by Dean Martin
&Volare by Gipsy Kings

Just music that has the feel of a little town in Europe or something. Like your in a movie or something.

Sorry if this was confusing... haha.

The godfather soundtrack..... and From Italy with Love...

Don
Let me tell you most Italian music is almost the same as ours and the only thing different is the clubs play only dance music they want you yo dance so you get thirsty and buy more beer or mixed drinks.
They play more American music then their own.

CiaoBella
anything by dean martin & frank sinatra.
also try elisa, ligabue, & tiziano ferro, as they are very big over here.
american music is very popular over here.

Mmm... unfortunately, someone on the top of the answers told the truth... we hear a lot of American, English, etc. music. As Italian artists... you wanna have that feeling of a little town? Gosh, I don't really know what to advice you.

I think these songs may be really nice to hear (and also to understand, if you know Italian or found a translation!):
- Lo strano percorso - Max Pezzali (in English: the strange journey)
- Luce (tramonti a Nord-Est) - Elisa (in English: Light (sunsets in North-East)
- Certe notti - Ligabue (in English: Some nights)
- Eccoti - Max Pezzali (in English: There you are)
- A te - Jovanotti (in English: To you, For you -> this is really romantic and really nice to hear, I love it!)

For any other question, or if you need translations, you may ask me!
Ciao ciao and have fun here in Italy!
