(Italian guys only). What is the difference between the Italian words "una sera" and "una serata"?

Question 1) The same as the title question

Question 2) Does "uscire da qualcosa" and "uscire di qualcosa" mean "escape from somewhere"?Are they both grammatically correct? If yes, should I say " Esco dall'unversita' " or "Esco di Universita' " ?

Question 3) What is the difference between " il conto" and "il scontrino" ? I am going to Italy soon and I am afraid to mix up these 2 words. Or they mean the same?

Question 4) Does "Voglio un caffe' " and " Vorrei un caffe' mean the same? Or different?

Question 5) Does Eros Ramazzotti have a Roman accent? Or he speaks standard Italian ? What about Nek? Does Nek have a Northern Italian accent?

GRAZIE MILLE !!!!! IL boca il lupo!

1) una sera means "one evening"- "Una serata" means more the social event happening in one evening. "Passiamo una serata insieme" means: let's do something together one of these evenings.
2) Uscire da qualcosa is the right expression. Uscire di qualcosa is not correct, so Esco dall'universitĂ  is the only correct form
3) Il conto is the bill, LO scontrino is the receipt (fiscal, you must ask for it and keep it when you buy something). So: "posso avere il conto?" at a bar or a restaurant. "mi dĂ  lo scontrino?" If you are buying something.

4) Voglio un caffè is considered rude if you are asking for a coffee at a bar. Use "vorrei" instead. If you are asked directly(ie: "vuoi un caffè o un te?") you can use Voglio un caffè.

5)Yes, Eros has a Roman accent and Nek a northern accent!

Ciao from Italy

Pier (i'm not a guy, but I'm Italian!;-) )

PS: Crogiolo is right: the examples he made with "Uscire di" are 100% correct. They did not come to mind when I first replied. And, to be picky, the correct expression is IN BOCCA AL LUPO, bocca, with 2 c, otherwise it'Spanish

Crogiolo dei Mondi
Pierluisa is right, but there is only one thing that is not totally correct in my opinion:

"Uscire di" is correct and used, there are no grammatical rules to know when you have to use "da" and when "di" (at least, I don't know them)...

For example I say "uscire di casa" (to exit from home, to go out), "uscire di prigione" (lit: to exit from jail, that means to be released) , "uscire di senno" ( lit: to exit from judgement, but it means to become crazy)...

Moreover "di", unlike "da" can indicate also a period of the day:

"Esco di notte"--->" I exit at night"
"Esco di mattina"---> "I exit in the morning"

Anyway if you are indecisive, I suggest you use "da" because it is more used...

bg b
"una sera", an evening

"una serata", night out

"uscire da qualcosa", get away from something or to get through something

"uscire di qualcosa", quite often to get nuts

"Esco dall'unversita' ", correct

"Esco di Universita' ", wrong

" il conto", total amount or bill

"il scontrino" ?, you should have said "lo scontrino", the receipt

"Voglio un caffe' " I want a coffee

" Vorrei un caffe', I would like coffee o can I have a coffee, please.

I am not a fan of Ramazzotti nor Nek, sorry.

GRAZIE MILLE !!!!! IL boca il lupo! ( In bocca al lupo)

why can only Italian guys answer??
And the phrase is "Nella bocca del lupo". You would never say "il bocca" anyway. Always "la bocca".
"Voglio un cafe" is rude because it means "i want a coffee." To me, it's abrupt and demanding. "vorrei un cafe" means "i would like a coffee." if I was going to say either of those I would stick "per favore" ("please") on the end. When I would ask for a coffee in Italy I would say "Posso avere un cafe per favore?" which means "May I have a coffee please" and that is very polite.
