Italy isn't that hot. It's not Africa or Phoenix. Most of the year it is very, very pleasant.

in the winter it's not hot at all, in the summer I go everyday to the sea and I relax under the sun... so, no, it's not too hot al least for me... maybe for someone who doesn't live next to the sea it's more difficult....

actually it's pretty cold, especially in the north.

I come from the north of Italy and it is not very hot

Hot ?
ahhaahahh
Come here, where I live, in Winter (and also in this period!) and you'll say me if it's too hot.

In Italy, until 2000-2005, there was the best weather of all over the world (Italy is the best positioned place, I'd say).
Now it's changing, but it's a good weather yet.

I live in central Italy (the region of Abruzzo) and it has been anything but hot over the last few months. In fact, it has been generally cold, wet, cloudy and generally just plain miserable. We had nearly a metre of snow in October, more in December, in January and then another batch in early March.

Admittedly, it hasn't been quite as grim as Scotland (where I used to live) can be between November and March, but it has been a long and fairly miserable Winter here. What's more, Spring this year has so far been pretty wet and chilly too. In fact, it has been so damp that the slugs and snails have been having a wonderful time munching on all the flowers being put by the spring-flowering bulbs in our garden.

It can get very hot in Italy in July and particularly in August, but too much heat is rarely a problem during the rest of the year.

As others here have pointed out – tactfully and not so politely – it is a mistake to either think of Italy as being in the tropics or the weather always being as it is when you've visited during the summer.

in summer the temperature is 30 - 35 C° ...

It depends. I live in Italy, but am originally from the central valley in California. There it can reach about 105°F (40.5°C) or even higher. When I call my parents and ask them if the heat wave has arrived they'll tell me it isn't that hot yet, only 100°F (37.8°C). LOL. I used to live in Modena, and there it was really humid. Temperature wise it wasn't too bad, but the humidity was nasty. I'm now living in Livigno which is a ski resort in northern Italy. In the summer, it's sunny in the day but chilly in the early morning and evenings. You actually need to bring a sweater or light jacket with you. When it is sunny, it reaches around 70° F (21°C), but you can feel the actual sun rays on your skin. Trust me, I'm not a fan of the heat but after months of snow a bit of sunshine always brings a smile to my face....even if it is only for a few hours a day.

Italy is not hot especially in the north!...Where I live is very hot just between the end of june and the middle of August (28/37°max)!...and then it's cool...in winter (btween december and march) we have a lot of snow and sometimes it's very very cold (-10/12°)!!!...

Italian beauty
Italy is not that hot, In the summer is hot but in the winter is very cold, so we don't live in the hot all year.

It depends on the region.Generally summer in Italy is hot with some rains in the north but it is natural since it is a southern country

ciao hellothere! :)
well, actually it depends on where u live.
in the north, for exemple, winter are a lot colder than in the south. but summers are hot, even if not as hot as the southern ones.

where i live, in the south in a place near the sea, the winters are never too cold and summers are very hot. think that sometimes in the period july-august (the hottest) temperatures can raise up till 45°!!(no kidding). last year has been one of the most hot ever.
anyway i'm used to it. and then everyday i go to the sea, so it doesn't really bother at all;) i guess that's how we "survive" XD during summer...going to the sea! :D

so to answer ur ques, i'd say that in the end it doesn't bother too much. personally i like summers and that always-so-blue-sky :)
probably good weather is also one of the reasons why italians are usually happy-sunny people :)

ciao :)

ps. i'm moving to england U_U

lol

XD

greetings from italy
xx

No I quite like the heat as long as I'm beside the sea - fresh air helps a lot.

Hence why NO ITALIAN works during the month of August in cities. (Or at least don't if they can at all avoid it).

Plus siestas are quite common during midday which is the worst time heat wise.

However, I have never spent the month of August down in the south, south and so if you're referring to the heat down there, my answer is, climatizzazione is a must!

I guess they are used to it! People from the North Pole would probably also wouldn't find it too cold there ;)

Crogiolo dei Mondi
Hard question... This is the climate I'm used to and I'm not sure that I'd change it if I had the power, even though it brings a lot of problems, because after all I like it ...

Summer can be very hot, the problem is that it is also very humid so the temperatures perceived are higher then the real ones...

During the last years we have had some old people who DIED because of the high temperatures in summer, moreover during this period air conditioners work a lot with a consequent high expenditure of energy...

I don't know how much the global warming changed the Italian climate because I'm not old enough to remember the climate 20-30-40 years ago, but what is sure is that we have to find a solution to this problem and to the problems mentioned above which are strictly linked...

However summer is the only season that can be defined hot, there also are other seasons with a beautiful climate, for example the spring that I find so nice but also the beginning of the autumn... Instead the winter could be very cold, even if it is less famous then the Italian summer, but even in this season we have had some vagrants who died because of the cold...

Well, it depends on where you live, what you are used to, and your personal preferences.
For example I've lived in Italy my whole life 'till I was 19 and I cannot stand Italian summer: too hot, too much sultriness.
Every year I dread the arrival of summer.
But most of my friends rejoice in the hot and sunny weather.
It depends on the personal disposition, really.
