If a girl who was half Italien with a father with a very Italien name said her name was 'Steph or Stef' depending on the answer, is it likely to be Stefania? And how would you shorten it?

The proper spelling is 'Italian'...

stefania is probably right. i wouldnt shorten it personally, steffie or steff is the norm.

In Italy if someone is called Stefania, Stefi would be short for Stefania. But Stefania would not be usually shorten
