You shouldn't need a power converter for your gateway here. The power supply that comes with it should accept a 220V input. If the label says something like 100 - 240 V, 50/60 Hz, then it can use inputs in those ranges. What you do need is a plug adapter that fits between the plug on your power supply and the wall sockets here. It will have two round prongs instead of two flat prongs and will work in most of Europe. You can get them at Target, Radioshack, Brookstones, most travel or luggage stores, and airport shops.
I have four laptops purchased in the US that I use here that all only need a plug adapter, but no power converter. |

i got mine at radio shack...u should try there...but they should have them at all of the major stores like best buy, and target (i found some there 2, but the best one was from radio shack). you could also check wal-mart....i would suggest looking on their websites b4 buying them at the store, that way you would know whether or not they have the converter!
Hope that I helped!! |

Hi there,
You will not need a converter to go to Italy (even if you are traveling in from the USA) - all laptops nowadays have a small converter inside their power supply (that little "box" on the power cable does this). Mine accepts anything from 100 to 240 volts without ever needing a transformer. All you need is a plug adapter.
Hope this has helped,

You shouldn't need a power converter, just a plug adaptor (you can find it at the airport). If the power lead of your notebook has a square box in the middle, that's the power converter! |
