Its because of guys like this that I really dislike Italian men!!?

I lost my virginity to an Italian guy who lives here in America (he's not Italian American, he came here when he was 20) He asked me to be his girlfriend but the next week told me he didnt want a girlfriend right now because he was "too busy" with school. This guy is 23 and still acts like a boy!! And he said that he slept with 2 girls when he went back to Italy this summer!! He asked if we could still be friends but hasnt tal

My friend had a boyfriend who was also full Italian and he cheated on her 2 times with his ex girlfriends before she officially dumped him. Also when I went to Italy, guys were always hitting on me and asking me for sex! What the hell!! I know they like naive tourists but come on!

Obviously, i know not all Italians are like this but it seems that the majority of them are. Why do they act like this? Is there like a difference in culture that makes Italians so sex crazed and real jerks? I really dont like Italian guys and stay away from them now.

I think your opinion may be affected by a preconceived notion about "Italians" before you were ever involved with this guy or had been to Italy...

But Italians, in general, do have a more lax attitude when it comes to fidelity in relationships than the majority of North Americans. People sleep around, men and women, just as they do in the states, but it's tolerated more so in Italy than in the U.S. People will even be more honest about being unfaithful (just as your guy admitted) in Italy than in the U.S.

Living in Italy, I actually witnessed more FEMALES than males being unfaithful to their partners- the whole idea is that no one took it as seriously as people do in the U.S.

We're not all the same... I'm sorry for your bad experiences, but not of all italians are like them.. I'm italian too, I consider myself the opposite of them...
Anyway, i could tell the same of you americans.. My best friend had a story with an american girl studying here, well, after that she used him, she said "I don't want to stay with you, i'm in italy and i want to have all the stories i can, i don't want to waste my time with just one guy!" and all hers friends acted the sameof her... You can imagine how he felt after this.. Anyway, that doesn't mean that now i think bad of all you american girls...Even if here they don't speak so good about americans girls, but anyway, i still don't think bad of all of you..In every country of this world you'll find lot of s.hits, but you'll find also lot of roses.

It's a shame the guy you met was a jerk but jerks can be found in ANY country and in EVERY nationality. If your first had been a regular American guy would you dislike ALL American guys? And, honey, lots of guys cheat on their girlfriends, not just Italians.

I think you just ran into some bad luck regarding italian men. But what I'd like to share is something that a guy from Bari (south Italy) told me when I was engaged to my then fiance (northern italian). He said, "You better watch out because italian men cheat on their wives." I told him that my soon-to-be husband was not like that. He then insisted that italian men take mistresses, and again I told him that I know deep down in my heart that my fiance was not like that, and there was no way on earth that I would feel or think differently.

Wanna know what he told me? He said, "Then he must be one of 'those' types of italian men. The un-italian italians." Whatever. I can only take this to mean that there are, and will always be, chauvinist men in Italy who view cheating as a given birthright. I don't think this is exclusive to italian men though...

I havent actively interacted with any italian men except my boyfriend, a native italian. Through our 3 years of relationship, I found him very honest and loyal.

I have been to Italy for numbers of times, each times 2 months of stay, I have never had such experiences of coming across any italian men asking me for sex or acting any unaccepable behaviors, except that they did act wth very charming manners.

To avoid being hit by wrong guys who just looking for sex, make sure that we, women, don't send them wrong messages, in that case, those kind of guys, regardless races, would understand and wouldnt bother us.

I believe the bad experiences that you and your freind had are individual cases and can happen to men of any races.

Italian men are well known of this and from some point of view, it's just human nature's dark-side. I am sure in other countries got lot of men like this as well, but italian men are probably more daring to say or do so(not that it's right) before get married, they dare to honestly let girls know he is interesed in you which got nothing wrong with it, but some are purely jerk and that's really disgusting.
We all need to take responsibilities to protect ourselves, sounds to me, you did not reject him at the beginning neither, so next time think twice before you say "yes". I don't think majority of them are like this, just how many italians do you know to judge the majority? Most of the italian women will not just look the other way if this happens, it's the opposite, try to ask any italain man about this, they would run as fast as they can, because their wives can put them in hell because of this. The italian law protects a lot the mother, from both economy and custody point of view, divorce is a long(some can up to 10 yrs) and painful procedure, so married men would really think twice before they do any thing. Also because of this, people think very carefully before they get married, which from some point of view, protects the family. Not like some other countries, people get married(drunk or not) then get divorced within a week, this gives no respect to marriage, and is completely a joke.

I think Italian men are used to having mistresses and many affairs.....their wives somehow know about this and look the other way. Hence, their sons do the same.
American women would never in a million years put up with this. Back in the old country they do. And, the French men are the same way.
Fine a nice guy for yourself.
