Yes, great place. Mountainous in the north and widening to the south.
Good for sailing and surfing - especially the northern part.
Down south the lake is not so deep and great for swimming.
Sirmione is a nice village you must visit - at least for one day.
Weather should be very nice - sunny and warm. |

I live about an hour south of the lake. All the towns have their own attractions, but I particularly like Sirmione in the south and Malcesine and Limone on the north end of the lake. Late August is a great time to be here. |

it's a wondreful place, you must visit sirmione, desenzano, riva del garda, bardolino, gardaland, salò (which I love).
verona, venice, brescia are not far. in late august the weather could still be nice, warm, maybe some rain from time to time. |
