Life as a teenage girl in Italy?

I am a 17 year old girl(almost 18) and I will be graduating high school in June. During the summer, before college, I'm going to go study in Italy for a month at a language school in Rome. I am fluent in Spanish, which I know is similar to Italian, but I have not studied Italian at all.

Some questions I have are:

- Do Italian girls generally wear a lot of makeup, only sometimes, or none at all?
- Is it common for Italian teens to speak other languages?
- Do teens there go out clubbing/partying a lot?
- What are some popular clothing brands/stores there?

Also, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

i come from Rome...
- generalize bout girls it's wrong, some girls do, some girls don't
- italian ppl don't speak other languages very good, someone do but it's not very common, almost everyone know the basic english, and someone know french, spanish or german but less than english, so if u want to talk with someone, just use english cause spanish is similar but written... that's the difference
- teens go to discos (we don't have different kind of discos as u do in USA, so our disco is your 21 yr old one) and pubs a lot (we don't have legal age for drinking, or we do but no one care) so u can easly c drunk ppl saturday night walking in the streets where pubs r
- italian ppl r famous for the style, u can find everything, the only thing is that clother r way more expensive than USA

my advice is enjoy ur trip u will surely have fun and an other advice is, don't waste all ur nights getting wasted (if that's ur goal) enjoy Rome even more sometimes taking a long walk ;) (not by yourself...)

- Italians girl especially during summer don't wear a lot of make up because it's hot and they would sweating continuously
- Italians teen speak very bad other languages, maybe english a bit better.
- Yes, they go out clubbing a lot, but be careful there are a lot of dangers if you don't know anyone.
- There are many clothing stores there. You'll see them when you'll visit italy.

Ok. I'm Italian boy and i say you that Italian girls don't wear a lot of make up during the day; they prefer wearing it at night when they go out, but not so much!!
Most of Italians don't speak a good english (me also!!) but you wont have problem talking to their. For what concerns clubbing/parting at night it depends about the girl and her relationship with friends: if you are a nice girl and the people you are going to meet are sociable, they'll invite you to go out all together. I don't live in Rome but Italian girls are the same everywhere: they go shopping where they find nice clothes with not very high prices and so they prefer going to company changes for spending their money.
Have fun in Italy!!!
I hope you're going to meet nice and friendly people!!!

i think that we can't generalize about the makeup because some girls use it, other use it a lot, other don't use it.
Italian teenager likes to go to parties, to discotheque or to music concert, and in Rome in summer there are a lot.
About clothing brands, here now th most popular for sport are nike, adidas, reebok and for casual clothing italians don't wear always brand cothes, but popular ones can be denny rose, d-squared

As for languages, italian people are not so good at languages (swiss people are better) but students that love studying foreign languages usually study at high school with emphasis on languages and if you are going to find some friends (also on the internet) it can be useful to you to know this.
