I've been to a lot of cities in Italy and my favorite is Venice. It is the most unique city in the world. No other city is set up like it with all the waterways. It feels very "old world" because there are no cars there, only boats. It's a very beautiful place. Rome is another awesome city because of it's history. The colosseum, the forum and trevi fountain are all worth seeing. |

I've had just 1 day in Rome and The Vatican City (off a cruise ship) a couple of years ago. Really needed a whole day in the Vatican church with our very good guide, and that was just for starters. Would love to go back to Rome.
We're going to The Lakes in June, with a day trip to Venice and one in Verona, just for a taster. |
