We are in the military moving to Naples, Italy in July.
Where are the safe areas to move around the Naval base (Gricignano area)?
Also where to live ( safe) around the Nato base in Bagnoli?

hi Kristina! So the areas which you should think about are Arco Felice and Pozzuoli, they are the nicest areas, near the Base and many military personnel live there, They are just outside Naples and are well connected by bus and train services...plus they are on the sea so a sea view is very much a possibilty! Naples isn't as bad as everyone makes out, I've been here 9 years now and have never had any problems. The thing with Naples is you need to know how to and where to live the city. Bagnoli is also a nice area, they are modernising it and its coming along very well! As for criminality, I'd say I had more problems in Philadelphia than here! Hope your move goes well and believe me, you'll love this city! |

Safe zones? Naples is not Iraq. Bagnoli is a wonderful zones in Naples. it is an industrialized zone which in the last few years has been reclaimed and has become bathing resort.
To napoli will find people good and accepting. The climate is meek and the available people. The crime rate is to the even number of other European metropolises.

i hope for all of you if you can get to move to sicily sigonella napoli is not the best place in the world
try to get a place at housing is safe then living in town
don't expect to much about traffic is really bad no to mention how they drive bot don'be scared i pretty sure as an american you will survive be careful is even dangerous for local people .
pl never go out with out pay atention

some people say that Naples is not more dangerous that other city... I would not wear a nice watch in Naples. But I do it in Rome or philadelphia all the time.
I talk for personal experiences.
