Looking for a guide in Rome?

I am going to be in Rome on May 25th and 26th. If somebody can recommend an English speaking guide (not touring companies), who can take us to site in Rome and Vatican that I have chosen. Preferably a student of history and architecture.

I live in Rome and I can recommend a company called Bob's limos they organize private tours , it's on the web, if you are looking for something cheeper Green line tour. It's better if you go through an agency, believe me, the hotels take a tip from guides or agency for the tours they sell

Ask at your hotel desk. Surely you are not the first to need one.
