Looking for an Italian town on a hill, any ideas?

Hi all, this is a bit of a long shot, but a few years back I spent some time in Italy, I stayed in near Venice. One day I took a trip to Aquilea (think thats how its spelt) and on the way back we stopped off in a town that was sprawled over a hill, it had lots of winding streets that led to the top of the hill where there was a church and at the bottom is the coast with a marina. It was a nice town but i cant think for the life of me what it was called. Does anyone have any ideas? All I know is it was somewhere in the adriatic area.
