Me and my daughter who is 14, are planning to go to Italy in May. Will it be possible to find a twin room..?

..for £25-£30 a night? We don't know exactly what area yet but we are wanting to travel around a bit so we need to keep budgets really cheap.

Don't think you will have any trouble finding a twin room
Why don't you go on www.tripadviser.com They have most hotels in Italy with price and reviews of hotel by people who stayed there. Also the is a forum to ask questions
Good Luck

Youth hostel it. There may be more thsn the two of you in a room in some hostels but you are really only there to sleep, you will save money and meet loads of folk from around the world who will be able to offer advice about fab places to eat and visit. Although it may seem icky at first (especially if you end up in a room with multiple bunk beds!) a good youth hostel will be a darned sight better than a dirt cheep hotel in a manky area. Have loads of fun whatever you decide.

I think the only way you will be able to find this is by staying in a youth hostel. I would do some research on this first, because just like many others the price reflects what you get. Although, many youth hostels are very open to families. They use the Euro in Italy now though, so if you are trying to convert money use the Euro conversion calculator.

I can't remember the name of the site off hand, but there is a website dedicated to student travelling. They have great deals. If you are in the US and have a flexible schedule check out Gate 1 Travel. My husband and I were in Venice for 2 days, Florence for 3 and Rome for 4 days. Including hotels and airfare it was $2100. This included our flight out of JFK to Venice, a water taxi to our hotel, a train to Florence and a car service from the hotel in Rome to the airport. We did a land only package in Rome, so we had to get there on our own. That was 66 Euro for the two of us on the Eurostar. They also have hotel only packages. We had no problems with any of our accomidations or transfers.

I also would consider putting off this trip until September if possible, I know school often dictates this is not possible. May is the beginning of the Tourist season. The lines to all of the major sites will be full, it may be hot (It was reaching 70 degrees farenheit when we were in Rome in mid March). If you can wait until the early fall you may actaully be able to get the price you want in a great place.

depends on where in italy youre planning on staying...the only thing you'll find for that price is a room in a hostel. nothing is cheap in europe and if youre only planning a trip now in april, to go in may, youre going to end up spending way more than you would have ever wanted.
