I am going to Italia after 5 weeks and i will stay in Rome may be 3 days and then am planing to go to Venice and Milan. The train station in Venice is on the opposite end of the Grand Canal from Piazza San Marco. It's a 40 minute walk each way. There are the vaporettos, but they take 26 to 40 minutes depending on the route and can be quite crowded. You wouldn't really get to see much of Venice or Milan if you did this. You're much better off just spending the day in Venice than trying to go on to Milan. |

you can do that... but is it convenient? you'll want remain more, it's a pity staying only 2 hours in 2 cities that requires much more to be visited. |

That would be a whirlwind tour. You could get a superficial view of both cities like that. But, the highspeed Eurostar is 4 hours 27 minutes from Rome to Venice. Why don't you take the night train from Rome at 22:50, arrive in Venice at 5:24, then you can spend more time there. The train from Venice to Milano takes about 3 hours. Here aer some options:
dep. 10:30 arr. 13:05
10:51 to 13:55
11:18 to 14:45
11:51 to 14:55
12:52 to 15:55
Or, you could take the night train from Roma to Milano at 23:00, arrive at 7:15 and hit Milano first, then go to Venice around midday. Check schedules on http://www.oebb.at/en
It's Austrian rail website, but the best and easiest to use for all of Europe. |

No you can't. Book a room in Venice and spend one night there. You can go to Scoobit.com, the hotel search engine at http://www.scoobit.com Switch the language to English, then fill the form with city name (Venice) you can leave the address field blank. Then click on "Search hotel". I went to MBest Western Hotel Olimpia Venezia, nice and clean place, loving it, but feel free to choose the hotel that best fits your needs. It's a safe website I've used many times so far, and you can book on line. |

No way! You´ll pass by Italy but on the train!!!Milan is a big city and no way to know it in one day... Venice! Oh dear no way... Is wasting money to do like that. Take your time and decide what you wanto to know. In the middle between Milan and Venice there is Verona too...also Padova to see. Well not easy to know Italy!!!!!! |
