Milan or Venice? |
I am trying to go on a short trip to Italy (from Germany) next Friday. I need to book my ticket like NOW...Even tho I like SOME historical sights I don't want that to be my main focus. I would like for it to be SOME pretty old AND new stuff for me to see & take pictures of but I also want to try A LOT of authentic Italian food & I want to find places where you can go and get a few drinks and even some good dancing clubs where they possibly play hip hop and r&b.............with all this that I want should i go to MILAN or VENICE? |

If you really can choose between Milan and Venice, only, then Milan meet your needs more. (anyway I think Turin would be better, according to want you're asking for)
I mainly agree with Aerin, except the traffic is a big issue in Venice as well, although for different reasons (mainly because of abuse of motorboats). |

Well, the traffic in Milan is hell, that's one thing. The good thing is that they have a nice mix of historical sites an shops, but I dunno about the food.
Venice is mostly history, but the pace there is more relaxed (plus you can have a gondola ride) and you don't really have to worry about traffic.
I've only been to Italy once and I only spent a day in both Venice and Milan, mostly at the historical sites, so I don't really know both well, but I'd say that if you don't mind bad traffic then go to Milan. It probably meets more of your needs than Venice does.
Good luck. :) |
