I'm a 13 yr old and I just came back from Milan about 3 weeks ago. I chose to go there on my birthday and loved every minute of it!!! There is A LOT of shopping to do, of course, as it is the fashion capital of the world. And there is a whole lot to see! the last supper, la scala opera house, and the Duomo. You could also take a side trip to Lake como and Bellagio. Which are Monte Bella.(very beautiful i think ??lol) I Don't know if your 9 yr old will be interested in these kind of things. But I know that when I was 9 I would have LOVED to go there instead of Alaska!! Milan is now my favorite city and I hope I helped some! Oh,and if you go to the Duomo be sure to go to the roof! there is a GORGEOUS view of the city. Ciao! have fun! |

I was in Milan for a day last week after being in Florence and Venice, not impressed myself, just like any other big dirty city.
I would not think my kids would have had fun there. |

My kids were there when they were 2 and 5. Though it was not their favorite city on the trip, they did have some fun. My son loved the train ride. Both kids really enjoyed the castle and the duomo. Their absolute favorite thing to do was walk on top of the roof at the duomo. They also enjoyed feeding the pigeons in the piazza (though I was disgusted by it). We let them each pick out one thing special to buy. Have fun. |

Ugh,Milan is brilliant! Well, there's McDonald's in a lot of places and a lot of them have play areas for children. As Milan is big and industrial you can probably turn it into some sort of 'adventure' for them, bringing them to different areas and shops. There's a lot of places in Milan which appeal to a lot of different people, so you'll definitely find something for them to do! Have a great time!
