Fontana del Nettuno (Fountain of Neptune)
The Due Torri (Two Towers
Basilica di San Petronio (Basilica of St Petronius)
San Domencio
These are all beautiful places to visit!
The main streets for shopping are Via Ugo Bassi, Via Rizzoli, Via Marconi, Via dell’Indipendenza, Via Massimo d’Azeglio, Via Farini and Via San Felice. It should be noted that all shops are closed on Thursday afternoon

Hi Placebo,

I read an excellent article about Bologna over a year ago in the NYTimes and saved it hoping to get there in the near future. I hope it helps you. Oh and the Italians are food lovers/wine lovers too,but they were not fat as I noticed while in Roma a year ago.I am a foodie too and I loved Italy.

The two towers, the higher of which is open to the public, but it's a helluva climb. As for food, just breathe in deliberately and follow your senses.

The Oscar Mayer exhibit is GREAT!

Don't miss the Baloney farms in the hills outside Bologna. Bring mustard!

Florence and Venice! OK, it depends on how long you are staying, and whether or not you have been to either of them before, but the Italian trains are efficient and cheap, and Bologna is in the middle of the two.
