I'm from Rome and I can suggest you some good place to go.
First of all, if you want to go shopping I suggest you Via del Corso and Via Cola di Rienzo (these are the best streets for shopping). At the end of Via cola di Rienzo you arrive at S.Pietro, so you can visit CittĂ del Vaticano.
In the evening, you can go to the Colosseum and from there you visit Fori Imperiali, Piazza Venezia and Fontana di Trevi (the set of Fellini's "La Dolce Vita"). If you want to have a drink I suggest u Trastevere and its pubs. A nice place to eat is "Pizzeria dei marmi", on Viale Trastevere, near piazza Sonnino.

The Coliseum for sure! It is right next to the Roman Forum, which is also good to see. Also the Forum pretty much overlaps with Palatine Hill. Here's a tip: tickets give access to the Coliseum and Palatine Hill, so save yourself a lot of waiting in line and go to the Palatine office to buy your tickets. Then you will walk right by all the other poor people into the Coliseum!
Vatican City is definitely worth a look. The Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, lots and lots of churches. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and get a map and a guidebook! |

Depends... Haw many day do you stay there...
all Roman place are fantastic: colosseo, fori impreriali, arco di costantino...
piazza Navona is very nice, and in Fontana di TREVI you must put a little coin for tradition...
care full: now it is very hot , and there are many thieves (ladri) near the station but also in metro!...

everywhere :) you should get a city tour because Rome is big and have the full of history.... you can not see everywhere by yourself... Enjoy your trip ...
