Nice area to stay in Scilly?

Hi,

I am thinking about a week in Scilly, can anybody recommend a nice area to stay? I’m looking for a quiet villa, but within walking distance of restaurants etc.

Thanks for any help.

They think you mean Italy! There isn't really that much in Scilly, unless you like beaches, cycling and walking. Also boat trips to other islands in the group. I've been there on day trips, but never stayed. Accommodation is expensive, I would suggest you try to find somewhere in the capital, Hughtown. Don't go to the other islands to stay, there's nothing there re restaurants, etc. Even Hughtown doesn't have all that much choice.
As far as a nice area to stay? None of the islands are big enough to have much variation. It's a case of if you can find anywhere. All are scenic.
I would recommend you take the daily boat trip to Tresco to see the beautiful tropical garden, but it's a lot of walking. Sometimes a tractor meets the boat, but no other transport.

The Eolian Islands are a wonderful place to spend holidays!!
i've been in Vulcano...

I rent a house in Milazzo, in front of the Eolian Islands. The house is big and breezy (in Sicily it is very hot), I've created a web site where you can see some photos but it's only in italian (obviously you can contact me if you need further informations)
